Privacy policy
Applies to Food Cost Calculator for Android (package kitchen.foodcost.app), version 1.0.0, and to foodcostkit.shop.

In short
- The app stores what you type on your phone and nowhere else.
- It has no internet permission and makes no network requests. There is no server and no account.
- No analytics, no adverts, no tracking, no notifications.
- A file leaves your phone only when you share an export or a backup yourself.
Who is responsible
Food Cost Calculator is published by the developer named on the app's Google Play page. There is one contact address for everything, including privacy questions: [email protected].
What the app works with
The app only works with what you enter yourself:
| Data | Entered by | Stored |
|---|---|---|
| Ingredients: name, category, pack size, purchase prices with dates, optional supplier name, usable share, notes | you | on your phone |
| Recipes: name, category, quantities, other costs, notes, variants, pricing target or menu price, weekly sales estimate | you | on your phone |
| Settings: VAT on or off and its rate, rounding, default rates, CSV format | you | on your phone |
The app does not ask for your name, e-mail address, phone number or any other personal detail. If you type personal data into a free-text field, for example a supplier's name, it stays on your phone like everything else.
Where it is stored
Everything is kept in the app's private storage on your phone. Export files (PDF, CSV and the backup file) are written to the app's cache folder immediately before you share them; Android may clear that cache at any time.
Android's own cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are switched off for this app. Your data is therefore not backed up unless you save a backup file yourself.
The app does not add encryption of its own to the stored data. It relies on Android's app sandbox and on the encryption of your device.
What leaves your phone
Nothing, unless you share it:
- Export and backup. When you tap PDF, CSV or “Save a backup”, the file is handed to the Android share sheet and goes to the app you pick (e-mail, a cloud drive, a messenger). From then on that app's privacy terms apply.
- Links. “Contact” opens your e-mail app; “Privacy policy” and “Website” open your browser. The website is covered by its own section below.
The app has no internet permission and makes no network requests. It has no server.
Third parties
None. The app contains no analytics, advertising, crash reporting, authentication or cloud software. It does not use an advertising ID. No data is sold or passed on.
Permissions
The app asks for no permissions while you use it. The only permission it declares is an internal one generated by the Android libraries; it gives no access to your data. Restoring a backup opens the system file picker for the one file you choose, which needs no storage permission.
Notifications, adverts and purchases
There are none. The app is free, sends no notifications, shows no adverts and has no purchases or subscription.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it:
- Single records: delete a recipe, an ingredient or a price in the app.
- Everything: More → Data and export → Erase everything, or uninstall the app, or clear the app's storage in Android settings.
The publisher holds no copy of your data, so there is nothing to request from the publisher. Questions and requests are still welcome at [email protected] and are answered.
Children
The app is a costing tool for people who cook for sale. It is not directed at children and contains nothing aimed at them.
This website
Foodcostkit.shop is a small information site about the app. It sets no cookies, contains no analytics or advertising scripts and no forms, and loads its fonts and images from its own address rather than from third parties.
As with any website, the server that delivers the pages may keep technical access logs (such as IP address, time and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure.
If you write to [email protected], your e-mail address and your message are used to answer you.
Changes to this policy
If a later version of the app sends any data off your phone, this policy will be updated before that version is released. The date at the top shows the latest change.
