Common questions
A recipe shows a warning and one line has no cost
Weight, volume and pieces do not convert into each other on their own. If an ingredient is bought by the litre or by the piece and the recipe uses grams, open the ingredient and fill in “Weight of one litre” or “Weight of one piece”. Lines that cannot be converted are listed with the reason and left out of the total until then.
The cost of an ingredient looks too high
Check its usable share. Recipe quantities are the prepared, usable quantity; with a usable share below 100% the app costs the larger quantity you have to buy. Also check that the pack size and unit of the latest price are right.
I recorded a wrong price
Open the ingredient and edit the entry in its price history, or delete it. The only price of an ingredient cannot be deleted; edit it instead.
I deleted something by mistake
Deleting a recipe, variant, ingredient line, cost, ingredient or price offers Undo for a few seconds. “Erase everything” and restoring a backup cannot be undone.
How do I move my data to another phone?
More → Data and export → Save a backup, and send the file to yourself. On the other phone choose “Restore from a backup” on the same screen. Restoring replaces everything on that phone. A damaged file is rejected whole and nothing is changed.
The CSV file opens in a single column
Choose the other CSV format in More → Settings. “Semicolon, 12,50” suits Excel or LibreOffice with Estonian or other European regional settings.
How do I delete all my data?
More → Data and export → Erase everything. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android settings does the same. There is no copy anywhere else.
How is a figure calculated?
More → How costing works lists every formula with a worked example.
